The biggest road project ever delivered in Western Australia's South West, Wilman Wadandi Highway, previously known as the Bunbury Outer Ring Road, is now officially open to traffic.

The new road is expected to divert around 15,000 vehicles from local Bunbury roads every day, reducing congestion and delivering safer and more efficient journeys for locals.

It provides better access to Bunbury-Geographe and the wider South West region, improving traffic flow and freight efficiency.

The 27-kilometre Wilman Wadandi Highway also features 17-kilometres of shared paths to significantly enhance walking, riding and wheeling in the South West.

Discovery Road was completed in April 2024, the first local road to open as part of major upgrades. At approximately 5.7-kilometres, Discovery Road is one of the longest local roads along the alignment.

The Northern Section from Forrest Highway to Boyanup Picton Road provides better access to Bunbury CBD and Ferguson Valley.

The Southern Section from South Western Highway to Bussell Highway includes a ‘Y’ interchange at Bussell Highway and Centenary Road, and a connection to Jules Road.

Some minor finishing works will still be underway across a range of areas including on some local roads, landscaping, artwork, and minor tie-in works.
