The Spoilbank Marina will open on 29 November 2024. The delivery of this project create a vibrant new amenity for the Hedland community and visitors to enjoy. Upgrades will alleviate demand on existing boat launching facilities and improve access and safety for recreational boaters.

The project features include a four-lane boat ramp, boat pens, trailer parking for vehicles and a public recreation and event space with modern amenities.

Finishing works are underway ahead of the anticipated opening in late-2024. The installation of over 17,000m2 of turf has recently been completed. Almost all 700 mature trees have been planted, with smaller planting and public amenity artwork installation continuing.

The project is managed and delivered by Pilbara Ports, in collaboration with the Department of TransportDevelopmentWAPilbara Development CommissionBHP and the Town of Port Hedland. It is funded by the State Government, Town of Port Hedland and BHP.

The marina boat ramps opened in early-2024, with final completion of remaining marine and landside areas expected during the year.
