Stage 3 of this project involved sealing a 48 kilometre section of Roebourne-Whittenoom Road, known locally as Karratha to Tom Price Road which was recently renamed Manuwarra Red Dog Highway.
The completion of Stage 3 provides road users a safe sealed road to access popular tourist attractions such as Millstream National Park.
Stage 4 of this project is due to commence in 2024. It is currently in planning and will involve a 110 km section from the Rio Tinto rail crossing to Nanutarra-Munjina Road on new alignment following the Rio Tinto rail line through some very rugged terrain​.
