Sections of the Duncan Road and Gordon Downs Road are being upgraded to improve safety and reduce wet seasons road closures.

The upgrades will provide greater and safer access for local communities, cattle stations and the Browns Range Earths Project.

Works include improving the road quality and drainage, sealing some sections and constructing and sealing floodways to help reduce road closures during the wet season.

Upgrades to Gordon Downs Road and the section of Duncan Road south of the hills to the entrance of Yaruman (Ringer Soak) community have been completed.

Construction is anticipated to recommence in 2025 targeting the hills sections from Halls Creek town through to the hills.
