Staged upgrades are continuing on sections of the Great Eastern Highway to improve road safety and freight efficiency on the vital transport link.
Sections of the upgrades are complete, including road widening and shoulder sealing of 15 kilometres between Stephen Road and west of Noongar South Road in Bodallin, and construction of a new westbound rest area between Bodallin and Moorine Rock.
Construction of a two-kilometre eastbound passing lane between Bodallin and Moorine Rock, and a various intersection upgrades have also been completed.
Upgrades are also being delivered to improve sections through the Wheatbelt and Goldfields-Esperance regions. Construction and sealing is continuing on the 11km section between Southern Cross and Ghooli.
